I see you are using a 2.5 multi and a 1 multi, with smaller lots. I feel this is a much better approach, your previous demo runs were far too aggressive with a large lot size for the account.
Slow and steady profit is our goal, then once you have a base capital built up, you can open a 2nd account with your broker and try an aggressive set with a small amount of your bankroll. |
Hi Ben,
Of course you're right. But the idea of testing is trying to find out where it goes wrong I think. If I make a 100k demo and trade it with a straightforward martingale at 0,01 lotsize it will seem that the martingale is safe. While everyone who ever tried it knows that straightforward martingales are so dangerous that it is not the question IF it goes wrong, but WHEN it goes wrong.
So on demo, yeah, big lotsizes and see what happens. If it survives a 200 pip jump on 0,03 it should also survive a 600 pip jump at 0.01. Since I have very negative experiences with backtests I only trust forward test and I don't want to wait 2 years for an 800 pip jump. Bigger lotsizes to help determine what an EA will do.
