I'm finding most EA's will respond to one sort of market conditon or another ie. range or trend.

This is a good trend ea and the market has been trending for the last short while or so (down). We have just entered a range as far as I can tell. We'll see how the ea does over a period of time that both ranges and trends .

My first trade did not trigger

I think it may be because I did not have a SL or TP in place, only a lot size.

I've added a SL and TP.

That's correct, a take profit and stop loss need to be set before hand. I'm torn between whether this is the way it should be or if I should allow for orders to be placed without one or even both. I do know that money management will not work unless it know how much might be lost and to know that then it has to know the stoploss ahead of the trade. For now I just set them both high and let the EA manage the rest.

I know. I'm very excited about it. So far it has done very well but I'm also interested to see how it will handle a sideways market as well. Part of the reason I picked those pairs though is because I thought they had a better chance of moving a significant amount when a trend forms and the charts looked promising as well. 38% increase is very nice to look at.

As you may have noticed, the MyFutureBAT demo account overall is not doing well anymore. The recent ranging market have started eating away at the profit and then some. Perhaps an addition of some indicator that detects ranging market conditions? Not sure.

Here is the overall account summary.

EUR/JPY has maintained a very nice positive profit and survived so far the ranging market conditions.

The past 5 posts show why I chose to continue this demo. If my overall remains negative for an extended time and only 1 pair remains positive and continues to thrive then at least I know that pair does well with my settings over the long run and in a variety of market conditions.
